John May, Director of the Quay Property Group, recently commissioned Reedus Design to redesign his old site, Quay Construction, to build a new site for Quay Property Consultants, and to add an umbrella site for The Quay Property Group.
This was a great project for Reedus, as it involved liaising with John at a business strategy level to decide how best to approach the amalgamation of his growing brands into one unified web presence. Sites always work best when we ensure that they align perfectly with business goals. In this case, this congruity was build in from the ground up.
We worked intensively on getting the copy right for the consultancy site, reworking that which we already had for the construction site and unifying the design across both of these sites and the new “group” umbrella.
Our tight methodology ensured that even though this was all completed in record time, we still had very little backpedalling, late revising or “scope creep” as we raced to get the sites online by deadline.
John was kind enough to give us a detailed appraisal, which we reproduce below:
“Reedus Design took the time to understand what I was trying to do with my group of companies. They spoke to me about business, my aims for the sites, and what I wanted to get out of them. They understood that these sites can’t just look nice – they have to be built so that they meet my business objectives.
“As well as designing the sites, Reedus helped with sourcing photography, and also did the copywriting for the biggest site [Quay Property Consultants]. I’m very busy, and it took me a while to come up with all the content for the original site last time around, and so this time, having a good copywriter on hand was great.
“They took detailed notes about what I needed the site to convey, did some market research, and then just went away and delivered the finished product.
“I can honestly say that there were only superficial changes, the odd photo I wanted moving, and one or two small factual alterations I had to make to the site when I saw the tests. In doing so they saved me a lot of time.
“I was in a hurry to get the sites up, and the last thing I want to say is how quickly they turned the job around for me. I was fortunate that they had a delay in another job so I could jump the queue a bit, but from the first meeting to seeing all my sites live took less than four weeks.
“I would certainly recommend Reedus Design to any business wanting a website that actually performs. My sites are there to generate direct leads, and Reedus never forgot that when planning, building and writing them for me.”
